What challenges are in Capture The Flag XL – The Roadtrip Edition?

Prior to the game players fill in a questionnaire. We will process the answers of this questionnaire in the mini-challenges. View the questions that are asked in the questionnaire.

Mini challenges (triggered every 5 km)

2. Take a photo in which you pose with 2 or more cars that have the colours of your national flag. So in the case of the Dutch flag: a red, white and blue car.
3. Take a photo of a street sign and portray the name on the sign as best as possible.

5. Take a photo in which you adopt the same pose as a statue that you encounter, as if you are part of the tableau.
6. Take a photo of another team, without them realising.

8. Take a photo in which you pose in front of the most beautiful natural landscape that you encounter.
9. Make a video in which you sing your favourite road trip song. The louder, the better! Of course, also make sure you have the necessary air guitars, imaginary drum kits and other instruments.

11. Take a photo in which you pose with a street sign that comes as close as possible to your chosen team name.
12. Take a photo of you posing in front of the ugliest car you come across.

14. Take a photo of one or more of you sitting behind the wheel of the most expensive car possible. The car may not be your own car.
15. Make a video of maximum 15 seconds in which you imitate a famous movie quote. The quote must come from a movie in which cars play an important role.

17. Use the car as a gym. Do fitness exercises with the car as a tool, such as push-ups leaning against the car. Record a video of maximum 15 seconds in which all team members do fitness exercises.
18. Act out the famous “Hand on the misted window” scene from the Titanic and take a photo of it.

20. Use the car window as a puppet show. Let one or more “sock puppets” tell the best joke you know.

Timer challenges (triggered every half hour)

1. If you drive at a constant speed of 55 kilometers per hour and have to cover 66 kilometers, how many minutes does it take you to cover this distance?
2. You cover 111 km in 1.5 hours. What is your average speed per hour during this trip?
3. You drive at a speed of 50 meters per second. If you drive for 3 minutes, how many kilometers will you have covered?
4. You first drive 160 kilometers in 3 hours and then another 140 kilometers in 2 hours. What is your average speed per hour over the entire trip?
5. You drive 75 kilometers at an average speed of 25 kilometers per hour. How many minutes does your trip take?

XL Challenge (These challenges are triggered when the teams visit a specific location.)

1. Find a vehicle with an interesting license plate and write a limerick using the letters or numbers in the license plate. Record a video of maximum 15 seconds, in which you all sing the limerick, while standing in front of the car with the license plate in question. A well-rhyming limerick earns 10 points.
2. Make a video of maximum 15 seconds, in which you reenact a well-known scene from a film. The scene must come from a film in which cars play an important role. Your car must be in it. Clearly state the name of the film at the beginning.
3. Find a street sign. Make as many other words as possible from the letters of the street name. If you have made 20 words that appear in the dictionary, you will receive 10 points. For every 10 extra words, you will receive 1 point. Take a photo showing the following:
   – The street sign
   – All of you as a group
   – A piece of paper/cardboard with all the words.
   – Make sure the words are easy to read. Only readable words earn points.
4. Take a photo in which there are as many other people in the car as possible next to you. Only people whose face (part of it) is visible in the photo count. 6 people earn you 10 points. Each additional person earns you 2 extra points.
